How sessions work

Individual Therapy

Ages 16 to adulthood

Depression and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions a person can experience. Through counseling and treatment, I can help you recover the motivation, perspective, and joy you once had. Other diagnoses treated include bipolar disorder, aggression, PTSD, and grief.

Group Therapy

Adults only

Individuals come together to work toward a common goal. The Thriving Together groups cover caregiving, grief, healthy boundaries, and college student life, alongside coping skills, self-esteem, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, and trauma or PTSD.

Relationship Counseling

Individuals

Learn to increase stability by communicating effectively, setting healthy boundaries, resolving conflict, and managing the emotions and thoughts that strain relationships โ€” recognizing and disputing unhealthy thinking, and understanding the role self-care plays in every relationship.

Please note: This practice does not provide substance abuse counseling or religious trauma therapy.

15 minutes, no commitment

Not sure yet? Start with a consultation

A 15-minute consultation is a chance to ask questions about group or individual counseling before you decide anything โ€” what a session actually looks like, which of the two would suit you better, and how payment and insurance work.

You do not need a diagnosis, a referral, or a clear idea of what is wrong. Bringing the questions is enough.

Learning to set healthy boundaries

A boundary is not a wall, and it is not an ultimatum. It is the line that says what you will and will not carry โ€” and for a lot of people it was never modeled, so it has to be learned in adulthood, from scratch. Saying no can feel like a betrayal when you have spent years being the reliable one; that guilt is not evidence you have done something wrong, it usually just means the boundary is new.

What this work looks like

  • Noticing where your limits already are, and where they get crossed
  • Saying what you need plainly, without over-explaining or apologizing for it
  • Holding a limit once it is set, including when someone pushes back
  • Recognizing and disputing the thinking that makes no feel unsafe
  • Understanding the part self-care plays in every relationship you have

This is individual work, and it is also the focus of Peace Within Boundaries, one of the Thriving Together groups.
